NHS Selection Process:
- Student must be enrolled at Cheyenne East High School for at least 1 semester.
- Candidates must have a 3.75 out of 4.0 GPA unweighted cumulative GPA by the end of First Semester of either Sophomore or Junior Year.
- Candidates must be a Sophomore Spring Semester or Junior Spring Semester to be eligible.
- Upon meeting the grade level, enrollment, and GPA standards, candidates shall then be considered based on their service, leadership, and character (and citizenship for NJHS.)
- Student will be invited to apply for membership if they meet the above requirements. They will receive a letter and application from the NHS Advisor.
- All applications received by the deadline on the application will be processed and sent on to the Faculty Council for Approval.
- All approvals will be confirmed with the Principal and the Principal holds all final decisions in membership.
- An induction ceremony will be held in the Spring Semester after the application deadline and meeting of the faculty council.
