Regular "B Day" - No Flex Period April 17th

Starting April 14th to May 8th, all 9th and 10th graders will begin WY-TOPP testing. These tests allow students to showcase what they have learned and to represent themselves and East High School in a positive way. Test scores are also used to determine learning interventions. In the coming weeks, teachers will work with students to set growth goals and to offer strategies. Students that meet their growth goal will attend a celebration in May.

Extended day tutoring will be held this week on school days Monday - Thursday from 2:45 pm - 4:30 pm in the T-Bird Academy (Room 347).

Laramie County School District #1 is excited to celebrate America 250 by engaging students across all grade levels in creative competitions and activities that explore the nation’s past, present, and future.

From Kindergarten through Grade 12, students will participate in age-appropriate challenges designed to inspire reflection, creativity, and civic engagement.

Students and families interested in participating can learn more by selecting their child’s grade level linked below.  

·        Grades K–2: Create colorful bookmarks answering, “What Freedom Means to Me.”

·        Grades 3–4: Write short essays or narratives exploring, “How Has America Changed in 250 Years?”

·        Grades 5–6: Reflect on, “What Does America Mean to Me?” through 2–3-page essays.

·        Grades 7–8: Submit written or visual proposals in the “America’s Future Leaders” Civics Challenge, imagining solutions to national challenges.

·        Grades 9–12: Develop advanced essays or multimedia presentations proposing solutions to pressing national issues, considering social, economic, and ethical impacts.

All entries will be reviewed by educators and judges, with recognition for outstanding work. Winners will be eligible for cash prizes and featured in school displays, district celebrations, and on the district website and social media. All entries are to be submitted by Wednesday, April 15 to be considered. Please submit or forward any completed entries to:

Laramie County Community College will be here on April 29th and May 18th for Dual Enrollment. If you want to take a class this summer or fall of 2026 use this link to get your name on the list and a Success Coach will meet with you on one of these days. Remember, LCSD#1 will pay for a total of four dual enrollment classes.

U.S. Service Academies, ROTC, and Congressional Information Event

If you are interested in attending West Point, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, USCGA, or the United States Merchant Marine Academy there will be an informational session on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Natrona County High School in Casper. For more information, please contact Senator Barasso's staff at 307-261-6413, Senator Lummis' staff at 307-772-2477, or Representative Hageman's staff at 307-829-3299. Enter through the Main Entrance on the west side of the building.

LCCC will be hosting a signing day for seniors planning on attending LCCC in fall, 2026. The event will be on May 5, 2026 at 5:30 pm at LCCC's main campus in Cheyenne.
